Teenager Autumn Edison (Lumi Pollack) lives in New York with her father
Story
After years in New York, 14-year-old Autumn returns to the Amazon rainforest to save her childhood village and her beloved jaguar friend. A spiritual remake of Mia i bijeli lav (2018), a previous film by Gilles de Maistre. They left their home in the Amazon jungle and her tribe after the murder of her activist mother 8 years earlier.
Her father hid letters from her relatives in the tribe
Loggers, poachers and others are destroying the land all around them. As a child, Autumn befriended a jaguar she named Hope. There is only one jaguar left in the area, and she is being hunted endlessly.
At least this one is in the right place and some of the jungle locations are amazing
Autumn fears that it is Hope and runs away from home in a desperate attempt to save her friend. She is followed by her agoraphobic science teacher Anya (Emily Beth Rickards), who tries to protect her student, even though she herself is completely miserable. This reminds me a lot of the old Disney movies with unrealistic characters, unrealistic situations, and unrealistic animals.
She is meant to be comedic relief
As far as unrealistic characters go, I am more put off by the Disney princess experience. It is ridiculous for them to float down a river like a cartoon. I don’t really have a problem with Anya.
The Amazon situation is a bit simplistic to say the least
The movie is nice and enjoyable, but the fakeness outweighs the better aspects.
